Reading Ancient Arabic Poetry in Light of Structuralist Theory

Abstract

The emergence of various critical methodologies has been closely linked to the development and flourishing of scientific and intellectual movements, along with the interest of many scholars in historical, social, philosophical, and linguistic research. Additionally, the ideological and intellectual backgrounds influencing each methodology cannot be overlooked. These backgrounds reflect the critic’s perspectives on the universe, life, and humanity, as critical ideas and opinions are often derived from specific philosophies, personal convictions, beliefs, and tastes that reveal a particular orientation.
